Our Vision...

Abilities Unlimited was developed in 2009 as a dynamic vision to build a program that awaken the life within individuals with developmental disabilities. It was felt that the resources for such adults lacked a clear path that allowed them to visualize their road to independence. This in turn created environments of hopelessness, as clients were left with limited tangible results. This realization was the cornerstone for Abilities Unlimited to transform day program services by placing integrity and the client central to all we do!

Meet our Program Director

Rick A. Perez M.S., Lic B.C.B.A- Rick has worked with individuals with developmental disabilities for over 20 years. At the age of 9-years-old, his parents opened the doors to their personal residence and developed a group home for women with intellectual disabilities. Sharing a small 3-bedroom home in Los Angeles, Rick was unknowingly being shaped into a vital advocate for his new found housemates. He was always willing to negotiate with his mother for extra dessert on their behalf. As Rick grew up he recognized that he had a passion in helping individuals with developmental disabilities. By the time College came around, he made it his life’s Mission to serve individuals with intellectual disabilities.

Rick continued to work in the field and gained professional experience while working towards his Master’s Degree. He served as an administrator with two agencies that assist adults with developmental disabilities. The clients served through these agencies are individuals who were dually diagnosed with disabilities that included Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Intellectual Disability, Schizophrenia, Psychosis, and Bi-Polar Disorder.  Rick received his Masters’ degree in Counseling with an emphasis in Applied Behavior Analysis from California State University, Los Angeles. He is also Board Certified Behavior Analyst (B.C.B.A), and continues to serve as Vendor Chair on the Board of Directors at Regional Center of Orange County.
